With the release of Shadowkeep just around the corner, it is now the time to start preparing your Guardian to take on the haunted Moon with the most resources available to them.

Below is a list of must-haves and must-dos to give you a leg up on the competition and be fully prepared for the endgame content releasing in Shadowkeep:

  1. Materials/Tokens - Stockpiling materials and tokens going into Shadowkeep is a surefire way to ensure you will always have these materials available when they are needed. There is nothing worse than getting Powerful gear to drop that you want to infuse into your favourite weapon, only to realise you are 10 Phaseglass Needles short of the infusion requirement. Now you have to break away from whatever activity you were doing to take a trip to Io to farm for this material. To avoid this dilemma it's best to make sure you have a few hundred of each of these planetary materials as a bare minimum with at least 100 Enhancement Cores and several hundred Legendary Shards as well. It is also a good idea to save Gunsmith Materials and Glimmer. Infusion materials are as follows:

    • Alkane Dust (Titan)
    • Phaseglass Needles (Io)
    • Dusklight Shards (EDZ)
    • Dattalice (Nesus)
    • Simulation Seeds (Mercury)
    • Seraphite Seeds (Mars)
    • Etheric Spiral (Tangled Shore)
  2. Weapon Mods - In the latest This Week at Bungie it was revealed that Weapon Mods will now be treated as reusable unlocks instead of consumables. Any weapon mods that are in your inventory when the Shadowkeep patch goes live will be converted into a permanent unlock. Unfortunately, this means if the only copy of a weapon mod you have is currently applied to a weapon you will need to dismantle this weapon to return the mod to your inventory. Since you only need a single copy of the mod to convert it to a permanent unlock it is a good idea to dismantle any excess copies you have to build up your supply of Mod Components and Legendary Shards.

  3. Dismantling Eververse Items - Upon the release of Shadowkeep any item that is acquired from Eververse Engrams will not give Bright Dust when dismantled. Fortunately, any Eververse item that is pulled from your Collections tab will not cost Bright Dust but instead will only cost Glimmer and Legendary Shards. Bright Dust, in addition to Silver, will still be used to buy items from the Eververse Store but its sole source will be through Eververse Bounties and not through dismantling Eververse items. This means that before Shadowkeep drops it is very important that you dismantle ALL Eververse items that are currently in your inventory including armour, ghosts, ships, shaders and transmat effects. This is to build up your Bright Dust reserves as high as you can before it becomes much harder to acquire. To make this easier there is a handy site known as Destiny Item Manager which is used to easily swap gear between characters and organise inventories. Once logging in to your account, type “source:eververse” into the search bar at the top of the page. This will highlight everything in your inventory that was acquired from Eververse Engrams. These are the items that need to be dismantled for Bright Dust

  4. Bounties and XP Boosts - With the release of Shadowkeep and Season of the Undying, Bungie is releasing two new gameplay features in “Season Pass Ranks” and “Seasonal Artifacts”. Both of these new features are levelled up based solely on experience points. Levelling up the Artifact gives access to a non-capped Power Level boost as well as many unique weapons and armour mods while levelling the Season Pass unlocks items such as armour, exotics, weapon ornaments and materials. To acquire these items as quickly as possible, and give a large Power boost, it’s best to stockpile as many completed bounties as possible going into Shadowkeep. Fireteam Medallions bought from Eververse also give a 4-hour, 25% boost to XP gains and so it is a great idea to have a decent stack of these, just be sure to activate one before handing in all those bounties you saved up. Destiny 2 Youtuber and Streamer “Sweatcicle” released a video recently titled “2,000,000 XP Bounty Prep” which details the best way to go about hoarding these bounties.
