Truer words were never spoken regarding Destiny! While the game certainly has lots of fun replayable content, there’s no way I would have logged so many hours into a single game had it not been for the people I play with. When I first started playing Destiny, I was fortunate enough to find an awesome clan of like minded players to spend late nights with, fighting back the darkness or honing skills in the crucible. It was during these late nights that existing friendships were strengthened and new friendships were formed.

Clans have always been a part of Destiny, but primarily serving only as a second friends list. In Destiny 2, clans are now a part of the game with their own progression and rewards listed below.

  • Gain additional glimmer when looting engrams
  • Increases public event rewards
  • Improves rewards from eliminating Cabal enemies
  • Increases the chance of receiving reputation tokens when completing Nightfalls, Raids, and Trials
  • Increases chance of receiving an engram when completing playlist activities with a clan member

Joining or setting up a new clan Joining a clan is as easy as searching the clans page on Bungie.net or joining Guided Games to kick the tires on a few clans to see which one is a good fit.

For those wishing to create a new clan, Bungie has provided an intuitive interface to walk clan founders through the process. Once a unique name is chosen and approved, founders will edit each of the clan settings as seen below.

It’s worth noting that the clan chat feature is very limited at the moment so I don’t recommend it as a primary communication channel. I’ve found Slack and Discord are two great messaging apps that work well for chatting with clan mates.

Once your clan is live, start sending invites and forging those new friendships!
