Xur

The weekend is finally upon us, with a visit from our elusive merchant friend Xur. Each week Xur returns Friday through Tuesday in Destiny 2 with an assortment of Exotics making him worth hunting down each week. Each Exotic can be purchased with Legendary Shards which can be earned in game or by dismantling Legendary items from your inventory. This week Xur is located in the Winding Cove in the EDZ ( European Dead Zone).

Xur Exotics this week are:

  • Vigilance Wing Kinetic Pulse Rifle - 29 Legendary Shards

  • Foetracer Hunter helmet - 23 Legendary Shards

  • An Insurmountable Skullfort Titan helmet - 23 Legendary Shards

  • Nezarec's Sin Warlock helmet - 23 Legendary Shards

Trials of the Nine - Survival mode

Trials has returned this week with Survival mode on The Dead Cliffs map. Trials in D2 returns every Friday through Tuesday with rotating maps and game modes each week. To gain access to Trials of the Nine you must first complete the story Campaign, have access to the Tower, and be 260 light level or higher. Match light does not play a factor when entering a Trials of the Nine anymore, and does not require purchase of a passage. Survival game mode in Trials is played by two teams of 4v4 with shared pool of eight lives for each team. Once a team has depleted the enemy teams lives pool, and taken each of their final lives the round is over. The first team to win four rounds wins the match. A flawless victory requires a team to win seven matches with zero losses. A flawless team will be granted access to the highest point of the Spire, which contains a portal to a celestial dimension where The Emissary gifts players with exclusive Rewards.

  • record 7 wins 0 losses for a Flawless victory

The Dead Cliffs map

The Dead Cliffs is a competitive map that contains vertical spaces and lots of cover. Take note of a few long corridors and a catwalk for snipers or long range engagements. Selecting a mid-range load-out on this map may be ideal with a long range weapon for those long corridors and when your team gets power ammo. Most engagements tend to take place in fairly short distances on this map, so be ready to find flanking routes, and have good communication. Work as a team to dominate over enemy teams. Good team shots and well thought out plans of attack will help your team gain an advantage.
