Weekend Breakdown January 5-8, 2018
Xur
Greetings Guardians! Kicking off our weekend with a visit from our favorite Exotic vendor, Xur has returned. This week he can be found north of the Giant’s Scar landing zone on Io,use your world map in your Director to set a way point to seek him out quickly. In case you are unfamiliar with Xur he is a vendor that only appears Fridays through Monday before reset in random places, bringing with him an assortment of random Exotics to buy (using Legendary Shards as currency). Each item he sells comes at a 270 power level with a +5 Legendary Mod attached already. Recently Fated Engrams have been added to his inventory that can be purchased once a week for a chance at an Exotic that you have not gotten yet. Three of Coins have also made there return into the world of Destiny for purchase from Xur, granting a 4 hour buff to increase Exotic drops in the wild while playing Destiny. At the moment Three of Coins are flawed and not working as they are supposed to, so I would suggest buying a few of them and holding onto them til Bungie issues a fix for them. This week Xur's inventory consists of the following :
Merciless, fusion rifle: 29 Legendary Shards
Young Ahamkara’s Spine, Hunter gauntlets: 23 Legendary Shards
Mask of the Quiet One, Titan helmet: 23 Legendary Shards
Wings of Sacred Dawn, Warlock chest: 23 Legendary Shards
Fated Engram: 97 Legendary Shards
Three of Coins: 31 Legendary Shards
Trials of the Nine
Trials has returned for another weekend of this highly competitive game mode for Guardians to enjoy. This week Trials of the Nine is the game mode Countdown on the PvP map Midtown. Midtown was debuted during the Beta of Destiny 2 taking place on Earth in a market square. This map offers a variety of options for players with long sniper lanes and many corners and alleys for close engagements. The Charges in the game mode Countdown are located in two locations, Market and Rugs. The game mode Countdown is played by each team takes turns being either Attack or Defend. Attack your team must defeat all enemy opponents or set a Charge, note if your teams sets a charge the enemy team must defuse the charge before it detonates even if your team is wiped out, failing to defuse the charge will result in the Attack team winning the round regardless. Defend is played by defending/defusing the charges or by eliminating the opposing team. This should be a fun week for Trials as this map many people have had more time on this map than many others and offers many options for flanking and making plays. Winning a single match in Trials will unlock the new social space known as the Spire where you can redeem Trials Tokens for rewards as well as ascend up the Spire with more wins in Trials match ultimately arriving at a Flawless card ending in a special celestial realm with a gigantic Emissary of the Nine. This Week At Bungie (TWAB)
This Week At Bungie Weekly Blog posts will return next week January 11, 2018 and be the first bit of news and information of the new year. A patch was done on Tuesday this week allowing Guardians who did not purchase the Curse of Osiris DLC to enjoy the upcoming Faction Rallies and Iron Banners that were previously locked out of. More information will be coming soon as Bungie releases it.
The Dawning This is the Final weekend of the seasonal event The Dawning ending this next Tuesday Reset January 9, 2018. Be sure to get in and enjoy all the chaos of Mayhem Clash (mind the folks using the nova bomb glitch) while its here, and the gift giving found at Ikora in the tower for more Dawning goodies as well as all the incredible decorations in and around the Tower and the Farm. The Dawning event is the most magical and beautiful event of the year, the soft music change in the Tower to the beautifully done decorations created for this event, the Dawning of 2018 can't come back soon enough.
