Nearly as soon as the Revelry event dropped on Destiny 2, people fell in love with the armour ornaments that came with it. It's disappointing for many Guardians to hear then that the event-specific ornaments that they have been grinding for over the past days will definitely not be sticking around beyond the seasonal celebration event.

In an update about the ornaments, and addressing a number of questions Guardians had put forth on the topic, community manager Dylan "dmg04" Gafner confirmed they would be removing the armour additions at the end of the event.

"The team is aware of feedback over the content of the [ornament] packages, the price of them, and the desire for ornaments to last longer than just the length of the event," Gafner said.

"As with the Tonic, the time it would take to develop changes, properly test them, and deploy them into the game would take longer than the remainder of the event. Ultimately, the feedback collected during the Revelry will be used to inform future developments of events."

Basically, Bungie didn't think Guardians would want to keep the ornaments that they'd either paid for, or battled their way through the Verdant Forest for, and now there's not enough time to rectify that problem.

It's a story Destiny players have heard many times before. In particular, the bugbear of 'feedback' coming from both Gafner and fellow community manager Chris "Cozmo23" Shannon has really got on current players' nerves. Some even lashed out after Gafner's most recent comments and said they were sick of "constant mistakes" waved away with the use of feedback.

"I'm sorry, but I no longer find Bungie saying they will use this information as feedback acceptable," one disgruntled user said.

"They have now had four-plus years of "collecting feedback", and constantly seem to be making the same mistakes. They either don't care, or are so helplessly inept that they can't use the feedback we give them at all.

"We need better communication from Bungie, and maybe it's time to look at if the community managers are actually passing along this feedback because it sure doesn't seem like it."

While calling for Cozmo and DMG's heads may seem a step too far, it's clear that Guardians have had it up to their helmets with requests and problems being ignored in the world of Destiny. Do you think Bungie needs to do something more to make sure they're listening to the online community, and bringing in new changes to their system?

The Revelry event ends on May 7, meaning you still have just under a fortnight left to play with your shiny new ornaments before they are bounced from the Destiny code.
