Bungie has confirmed they will be lowering the required orb count for the Verdant Light: Competitive triumph to just 20, after the company was forced to disable Revelry Orbs in Gambit, Gambit Prime, raid, and competitive Crucible playlists due to "GUITAR errors" and "activity disconnects."
Due to the fact that these playlists had been coughing up the most orbs for the Triumph quest - "create 200 orbs by defeating Guardians with precision kills in Quickplay, Rumble, and the featured Crucible playlist" - and now multiple Crucible playlists had been dumped until the errors have been fixed, Bungie made the call to lower the required limit of the mission.
"These changes will be deployed after the Revelry ends," Bungie revealed in their most recent This Week at Bungie release. "Players who meet the requirement of 20 orbs will have the Triumph auto-complete after downloading the 2.2.2 patch. These Guardians will also unlock the 'Party Harder' Triumph, as well as the 'Stimulant Spring' emblem reward."
Instead, the planned fix will go live after the Revelry event ends on May 7. Once the event is over, the Triumph should auto-complete for anyone who generated at least 20 orbs.
Do you think this was the right choice from Bungie? Or do you think the Triumph should have stayed challenging so that it was worth it for Guardians that finished the quest?
